What causes the symptoms?

It develops due to sudden weight loss, aging or genetic reasons. Even with regular exercise and targeted gymnastics, you cannot get rid of sagging skin, because the exercises tighten the muscles, not the loose skin tissue. During arm plastic surgery, the loose excess skin of the upper arm is removed together with the fat tissue that may have accumulated there. The result is a tight arm proportional to the body shape.

The course of the operation

The intervention is always preceded by a medical consultation, during which our plastic surgeon informs you about the options and answers any questions that may arise. Armoplasty can be performed after the pre-operative laboratory tests - or after the chest X-ray after the age of 40, which is done under anesthesia and usually lasts 2-3 hours. During the operation, if necessary, excess fatty tissue is removed, and then the stretched skin is excised. The incision is made on the inside of the upper arms, resulting in a visible scar line, but this will fade over time.

What happens after the intervention?

After arm stretching, bed rest for 1 day is recommended. A thin suction tube is placed under the skin to drain the resulting secretions - this is removed after 1-2 days. It is recommended to rest the arms supported by a pillow, this speeds up the healing process. After the operation, a special compression garment must be worn for 6 weeks. A control examination takes place after 1 week, and then the sutures are removed after 2 or 3 weeks. You can go to work after 2 weeks (in the case of non-physical work), but you must refrain from physical exertion for months.
