General examinations before the intervention

The intervention can be performed in an awake state, under local anesthesia, in this case it is not necessary to calculate any preliminary actions. However, the majority of facial plastic procedures are surgical procedures, so they are performed under anesthesia, which requires certain tests. This means a general lab and EKG in these cases, which we conveniently perform for you in our institute. The attending physician will be able to provide assistance as to whether other tests are necessary. It is important to avoid smoking and drinking alcohol and to minimize stress before surgery.

The goal of treatment

• With our own fat technology, fat tissue obtained from other body surfaces is injected into critical parts of our face. This intervention therefore first begins with liposuction - usually from the abdomen or thighs - and then the fat tissue is re-injected.
• Facial plastic surgery is performed when the sagging of the skin is already greater. This procedure lifts the lower part of the face and tightens the skin of the neck and chin. Here, not only volume replacement takes place, but also the hanging skin is removed.

Course of treatment

We make incisions on the hairy scalp and in the line of the ears (in front of and behind the ears), as well as on the back of the neck, - so in places that are as inconspicuous as possible from the point of view of the face and the overall effect - and then the stretched, flabby, redundant skin is removed.

In case of possible complications, the highest level of intensive care is available. Facial plastic surgery is an approximately 2-3 hour intervention, followed by 1 night in the hospital.

Possible side effects, complications

During facial plastic treatments, as the numbers show, complications are rare: in 1-5% of cases, skin death may occur, but this heals spontaneously. The remaining scar is usually in a hidden place, in the hairline or behind the ear. Temporary dysfunction of the branches of the facial nerve may occur in 1–3% of cases, permanent damage is much rarer. The local anesthesia itself can also cause temporary dysfunction lasting a few hours, but these are temporary complaints.

The healing time

Since our face is one of our best blood circulation surfaces, depending on the individual, but rapid regeneration can be expected. After the operation, a special mask or clamping joint is placed on the patients' faces, which helps to reduce swellings. The compression bandage is removed from the treated area after about a week, the mask a little later, but it is still worth wearing the latter at night.

The first days - maybe 1-2 weeks - after the operation can be painful, but with the well-proven painkillers - diclofenac, ibuprofen - these complaints can be moderated and usually disappear within a few days.

In the first few days after surgery, be very patient: you should sleep on a high pillow, and eat mushy, easy-to-chew foods during meals. Spicy foods should be avoided. It is also worth considering bruises and strains, which are common symptoms after treatment, but they also disappear within 1-2 weeks. You can wash your hair for the first time 5-6 days after the operation, and make-up is possible after 3 weeks, we avoid these types of activities until then.

Suture removal takes place after approximately 2 weeks, then everyday life can continue as usual. In approximately 1 month after the operation, it is worth minimizing stronger physical activities - for example bending forward, intensive sports - and also those activities that are associated with an increase in blood pressure, as these increase the possibility of bleeding. Avoiding sunbathing and smoking is also important, and tanning beds are only possible after 6-8 weeks. By following the above, unpleasant side effects can be avoided and healing can be accelerated.
The youthfulness and firmness of the face can then be maintained even further with a healthy lifestyle. Contrary to popular belief, facial expressions do not change, they remain completely natural as they were before. The result of the treatment is therefore a face that preserves its own character, but is many years younger, which in every case gives new impetus to the patient's everyday life.
